Alan Moore on Pornography
Alan Moore, of (among many, may other things) the wonderful graphic novel Lost Girls, has a simply superb essay on pornography on the website of the (now, sadly, defunct) magazine Arthur. Moore’s writing is always a pleasure to read, so read the whole thing.
Just to recap, then, sexually progressive cultures gave us mathematics, literature, philosophy, civilization and the rest, while sexually restrictive cultures gave us the Dark Ages and the Holocaust. Not that I’m trying to load my argument, of course.
