I took the test. I got an 8.

I took it before I read your article here. And many of the things I was going to complain about were the exact same things you complained about.

I hope you send this article to the author of the quiz. Even better would be to write a petition type letter with it and let a bunch of us undersign it to show that you're not just one person... that you have power in numbers.

As someone who enjoys sex, regularly thinks about sex (I want to be a sexual educator. Sexuality is my main academic interest. As this person probably thinks about their profession a lot, so do I.), enjoys having all kinds of sex that isn't considered normal, is ethically non-monogamous, and has to sometimes hide my sex life from those in my family who aren't as accepting as I am, I'd have to say that I am NOT a sex addict. My sexuality does not run my life... I run it. I'm comfortable with the large part that sexuality takes in my life. It doesn't interfere with my relationships with my friends. It doesn't interfere with my work.

This guy seriously needs better criteria.

I'd be curious to see the kind of questions YOU'D write on a sex addict's test. Perhaps call it the "Sex-positive, are you a sex addict" test. Because I don't think I've ever seen a test out there to see if you have a problem with your sexuality that is sex positive and actually looks for PROBLEMS with sexuality instead of sexuality that's considered "abnormal".
