The Complete Omaha The Cat Dancer, Volume 1
I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. A stripper who’s also a cat? Really? Oh yes, really, and it’s a really good read and surprisingly sexy. Omaha The Cat Dancer was, and probably still is, the most banned comic book ever. Apparently, the authorities simply can’t deal with its combination of great art, a coherent, mature story line, and lots of hot sex that has a great deal to do with the plot. What’s the plot, you ask? Well, Omaha, who is a cat, or cat-like in that she has a cute kitty face, cat ears (that go back only when she’s really mad) and a tail (otherwise she has a hot little, very female, human body), is one of the best exotic dancers in town. Things are looking up after she meets the tom cat of her dreams, but alas there’s trouble ahead for poor Omaha. What follows is a story of political corruption and hysterical community leaders “protecting” the public (boy, that sounds awfully familiar to us — check out our blog for more details). I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just say that the sex fits perfectly in with the plot and the whole thing was so good I was torn between turning the pages to find out what happens next and drooling over all the hot sex drawn on the page. If you only buy one graphic novel, we strongly recommend this one.
